Tru-Gard™ at Sydney Airport Modified Carpark Building

Here’s something a little bit different! Tru-Gard™ Hand Rail has been used to make a small modification to this third party carpark building next to Sydney’s Kingsford Smith Airport.

This is a large, multi-level carpark that also houses public service business and reception areas. The building owners wished to modify one of the existing vehicle ramps to create a walkway dedicated to foot traffic only, enabling people to move safely between the carparking zone below and the pedestrian-friendly business area above. (A short video below shows the carpark ramp prior to the installation of Tru-Gard™ as well as the parking area, which remains the same, on the lower level).

With the simple application of Tru-Gard™ Hand Rail on the ramp, a two-way foot traffic zone has been created for people wanting to park a vehicle and walk directly and safely to the business reception on the upper level. An added bonus is the stability that the handrail provides for pedestrians prone to slipping in either direction, or for those gaining too much speed on descent.

This Tru-Gard™ installation was a simple solution and successful outcome to make this mixed-traffic area so much safer.
