This was phase two of a larger project we carried out in stages at this busy meat processing factory. This time strengthening pedestrian safety zones for shift workers transiting through heavy traffic areas from the car park area to their work station. To achieve this, additional 910/2 safety barrier was installed to complete the walkways, as well as incoming and outgoing personnel gates and separate double-telescopic gates for vehicular traffic.
Silver Fern Farms Pareora is a large sheep processing factory south of Timaru that employs approximately 600 staff across split shifts. That’s a lot of pedestrians moving around the site, all day, every day! And they’re not the only ones… large stock trucks, shipping containers, forklifts, extra large bins, crates, pallets, and many other mobile items are continuously on the move alongside people.
