Here’s another successful installation carried out for Harvey Norman, this time at their Timaru site. In this case, the inwards and outwards goods area is quite small and constantly busy with both forklifts and staff on foot, pallet trolleys and sack barrows. In some of these photos you can see by the wall cladding that their forklift and other moving equipment frequently grazes the building structure due to the limitations of space and the amount of goods they are dealing with. In some cases this may have spelled disaster for staff members entering or exiting the personnel doors at just the wrong moment. Tru-Gard™ to the rescue! We installed 910-2 Certified Barrier as mini safety zones around doorways, with the special inclusion of Personnel Safety Gates to allow safe access to the working areas. Note, in particular, our popular Tru-Gard™ Double Telescopic Gate with latch, which has been hinged directly onto Tru-Gard™ Standard Bollards. This has become a popular fitting in environments such as these, with the adjustable length making for a perfect fit, and the installation allowing mobile equipment to pass when necessary, or otherwise locked out to provide security for pedestrians at other times. This really gives the premises a lot of flexibility in their operation while at the same time making personnel safety a priority.
