Like any Harvey Norman store around the country, this one operates a very busy warehouse on site, bringing in continual supply of stock and distributing furniture and home appliances to an insatiable customer base.
This store room had been running at full capacity for some time with various transportation machinery operating within close proximity of the staff managing inwards and outwards goods. Unfortunately they had no traffic management system in place, so were operating in a high risk situation without pedestrian safety zones, not to mention barrier protection to cover their stacks of valuable product. Store management asked for our help.
Our suggested solution was to cordon off the danger zones with runs of 910-2 barrier, allowing plenty of personnel access through numerous gates in key areas. Full protection was most crucial in the office and administration areas, as well as the doorways leading directly from the traffic zone into the kitchenette and toilets, and for specific storage areas where product could be at risk from passing forklifts or pallet trolleys. Our recommendations were taken on board and it’s really great to see the store room looking so much safer now!
