There’s a lot of ‘big traffic’ working continually at Nelson Port, making it unsafe for pedestrians to simply wander around the container yards and shipping docks on site. While dedicated walkways are provided and heavy vehicle drivers are well trained, we recommended the addition of physical guardrail as a visual marker to assist all parties. Though Tru-Gard™ Hand Rail Systems may not provide the same impact resistance of full crash barrier, it certainly delivers solid, high-visibility segregation for foot traffic, preventing pedestrians inadvertently stepping out into vehicle zones. It also provides a barrier for high edges and sudden drops, as well as hand-held support for stability on steep or slippery walkways. The system can integrate with Tru-Gard™ Certified Barrier for further protection if required.
